Sectionals

The Grande Prairie Skating Club is very proud and excited to be hosting the 2012 Skate Canada AB/NWT/Nunavut Sectional Championships November 3 to 6th, 2011.  A competition of this magnitude is typically held in central or southern Alberta so we are feeling very fortunate to have this event in our region.

 

We will be welcoming approximately 300 skaters from Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut who will be competing at Sectionals.  Also joining them will be approximately 75 coaches and officials from throughout Alberta. 

 

The skaters participating in this event will be striving for the “Section Champion” in various categories and the top 4 in most categories will qualify to compete in the 2012 Skate Canada Challenge the final qualifying competition for the Skate Canada Canadian Figure Skating Championships and Junior Nationals.

Bottle Fundraiser

 

The GPSC has an account setup at the bottle depot, if you or anyone you know would like to donate bottles to the club. You do not have to sort your bottles, just label it with "GPSC account number 1268-1574" and drop them off. Every little bit helps!

 

 Competition Fundraising
 The GPSC Board requires one post dated cheque in the amount of 400.00 for our March 2012 competition. Once you have completed your volunteer hours for this competition you will get your cheque back. We need all the GPSC members to volunteer in order to make this event a success!

 

 The GPSC Board would like to thank everyone for all of their hard work from last year’s fundraising. The GPSC had a large debt this past year, and the club is in a much better position going into the 2011/2012 season. Our club can't function without fundraising, just like many other clubs - why not a little fun while doing it. One of our lucky volunteers this year will be going to Vegas. We would like to thank you for volunteering at our club and for being a part of our team! Because of you our future looks strong.
